What does WiFi stand for?

WiFi - wireless fidelity refers to the wireless networks which use 802.11 standard developed by the IEEE. WiFi or Wi-Fi is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED means that the product is tested and certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This certification assures that products act according to 802.11 standards.

IEEE uses Wireless Local area network, WLAN, or Wireless LAN as names for the wireless network with the 802.11 standards.
