WiFi Technology

WiFi uses the WLAN standards (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n) for connection between wireless access points or WiFi routers and WLAN cards. The broadband Wireless Router is an access point with routing features. Access Points – AP are the devices which perform wireless to wired bridge function. They are connected between wireless and wired world.

Wireless Internet Card or adapter connects devices to the wireless network. Except classical computers there are lots of other devices that use WiFi adapters: games consoles, credit card terminals, wireless printers, internet cameras, WiFi internet radio, PDA…
