What about Wireless IP Telephony - VoWLAN (Voice over WLAN)? I guess you have a big question mark after that question. Telephony is very sensible to lack of the bandwidth, delay, and jitter - delay variation. If you put telephony on IP, you get VoIP - Voice over IP. IP is best effort technology that is not reliable by itself. After that, you put all this on wireless networks. Wireless medium is very sensible on bandwidth, obstacles and it has doubtful reliability. When you put all this on paper, it does not seem like good combination at all. Despite all these, this technology works amazingly well. Experts and analyst in the ICT industry have widely accepted and acknowledged wireless IP networks as desirable medium for VoWLAN.
